About

Teacher-built, for the first five minutes of class.

Science Hook Lab AI exists for one reason: the opening of a lesson decides whether students lean in or check out — and building that opening takes prep time most teachers don't have.

Dennis, founder of The Science Hook Lab

The founder story

I'm Dennis. I teach middle school science, and I built The Science Hook Lab out of a problem I run into every single week: science teaching is hard. Prep time is limited, budgets are tight, and students walk in carrying a dozen distractions. The lesson content is usually the easy part — getting attention in the first 90 seconds is the hard part.

So I started collecting what actually worked in my own room: the phenomena that made kids gasp, the questions they couldn't let go of, the small demonstrations that turned into real discussion. Over time that became a repeatable method — the 6-Pillar Hook Framework — and then a course for other teachers.

The mission

Make the start of class the strongest part of it, without adding to a teacher's workload. Not gimmicks, not busywork — a curiosity-first opener that bridges straight into the concept you were already going to teach.

It works just as well for homeschool parents who want a curiosity-first opener without hours of planning.

How this tool fits in

Science Hook Lab AI is the companion tool to The Science Hook Lab. It runs on the same proprietary 6-Pillar framework taught in the course — Fascination Point, Hook Type, Curiosity Question, Mini-Moment, Guided Thinking, and Bridge — so what you generate here uses the same terminology and the same structure you'd build by hand.

It's a small, honest product built by one teacher. There are no testimonials on this page and no statistics, because I'd rather you just try it and judge the output yourself.
